Zachte Chocolade — Cacao & Rooibos

Hot chocolate. But as tea.

Cacao beans don't melt, they steep. Leave them for eight minutes and your kitchen smells like a chocolate shop — and your cup tastes like hot chocolate, only without that thick sweet layer at the bottom.

What's in it
66% crushed cacao beans. That is the biggest part of the bag, and you taste it: deep, dark, a little bitter at the edge — the way dark chocolate should taste. Underneath, rooibos for the full, round body, raisins for a gentle sweetness, and real vanilla to finish.

No black tea. No green tea. Cacao, rooibos and fruit, nothing more.

Brewing it plain
1 teaspoon per cup, boiling water, steep 8 to 10 minutes. Shorter and you miss the cacao — it needs time. Plain it is dark and slightly bitter, with a long finish. A 100 gram bag is good for about 30 cups, the 150 gram bag for about 45.

Or make it a latte
This is how we like it best. Steep 1 heaped teaspoon in 100 ml of boiling water for 8 minutes and strain. Pour in 150 ml of frothed milk — oat works very well here — and dust with a little cocoa powder. With milk the blend becomes round and creamy, and the chocolate really comes out.

About the colour
Deep dark brown in the cup, deeper than you'd expect from a loose tea. Not thick hot chocolate — it stays tea, clear in the glass.

Ingredients: Cacao beans (66%), rooibos, raisins, chocolate 4% (sugar, cocoa mass, emulsifier: lecithin), natural flavouring, vanilla (1%).
Contents: 50 g, 100 g or 150 g loose blend.
